Hi, I’m Isabella
Living in Sydney and looking to share the practices of yoga and all it has taught me over the last 10 years. I have been facilitating since August 2020 in studios and corporate spaces as well as privates and events, more on my teaching experiences below.
I want to cultivate a love of learning for everyone who I have the opportunity to guide through this practice. To facilitate space for them to learn more about them self, to know their self better through techniques of the practice.
“YOGA IS THE JOURNEY OF THE SELF, THROUGH THE SELF TO THE SELF” Bhagavad Gita
Originally I practiced ashtanga in London and these roots are still evident in my classes. Leading powerful classes with playful transitions and ensuring everyone can be challenged without being overwhelmed and remaining safe.
I completed my 200 hour vinyasa teacher training in 2020 led by Dustin Brown, Nat Commons and Amy Cashman at Warrior One. I had felt ready to do my teacher training for a number of years but knew after doing a class with Dustin in 2016 that I wanted to wait. I had started teaching in London prior to my 200 hour training and have been teaching since completion of my 200hr vinyasa teacher training in Aug 2020.

Studio Manager
www.thelivingroomcoogee.com.au
In February 2022 I began teaching at The Livingroom Yoga School in Coogee. Soon after I began teaching for them Mari (the owner) asked if I would be interested in taking on some managerial tasks to support the studio. Quickly this role grew into managing all aspects of the studio alongside the owners. It was really valuable to be teaching and practicing at the studio alongside this role in terms of understanding studio retention and conversion of clients, meeting expectations and having deep understanding when something wasn't working.
- Managed studio e-mail inbox. I dealt with a wide variety of queries, feedback support for clients, contractors, staff and suppliers for the studio. This involved taking initiative to problem solve on time sensitive matters and excellent written communication skills.
- MindBody; I managed mindbody system end-to-end including client profiles and memberships. Setting up workshops, classes, timetabling, new pricing options, challenges, events. Reporting and breaking this down using excel. Following up any unpaids. Pulling contact lists and organisation ie. duplicate accounts. Training new teachers in everything they needed to know mindbody wise as there is no receptionist at the studio and ran a training for everyone on this as well as setting up video to be sent to review at home. Over my time in this role I developed a very good understanding of the functions of mindbody and how to use it efficiently and effectively to optimise operations.
- Organising and ensuring all teachers certificates were saved and that insurance and first aid/CPR were up to date.
- I received all CV's via e-mail from interested facilitators, going on to collect all their necessary documents and process those successful to cover's list. Then take them through studio introduction (opening/closing, Mindbody, teaching at The Livingroom, culture, check in, communication with clients, feedback etc)
- Alongside the owners we decided on timetabling, offerings, any changes the studio would try and often reviewed the experience and the offering the studio had to ensure it was in line with supporting the community of the studio.
- Being a point of contact for yoga facilitators and ensuring effective communication among each other and with other users of the space and owners.
- Following up with students and supporting them into membership options that worked best and supported them in the right ways for their budget and time.
- Many other ad hoc responsibilities and supporting the studio in any appropriate ways - making sure it was clean and tidy, supplies were stocked, embellishments appropriate, everything was safe, any fixes were organised promptly
- I managed challenges, promotions and sales on offer at the studio from setting them up on mindbody, printing posters and artwork, e-mailing newsletters, encouraging teachers to share and the wording in this to following up feedback loop and review post event to ensure continuous improvement in procedures and processes in this and all operations of the studio.
- My responsibility to write and e-mail out a monthly newsletter and ensure everything necessary was included. I also ran the studios social media pages.
- The studio has 4 rooms it rents out as event space - I did the bookings for these rooms and events as well as invoicing and managing that side of studio operations.
- Updating their wordpress website with new classes, new price plans and links, new teachers, new photos and copy.

Outdoor Educator
https://www.littleforestfolk.com/
2018-2022 - I have had the wonderful opportunity to work in some of the most forward thinking alternative educational settings. I have always felt a deep connection to the natural world and have loved cultivating this love and wonder for the outdoors and love for learning with children aged 2-7 years. I completed my post grad in teaching whilst working at Little Forest Folk in London, Fulham, they are full time outdoor education for children and we spent 9am-3.30pm in the great outdoors each day. In Melbourne I worked at Lady Forster. Where I was onboarded for my experience in London as they set up their beach and bush kinder programs. In these roles I have learnt more than I ever would have imagined about community, connection, the natural world, holding space for learning and encouraging engagement both of the children but also adults and other teachers in trying something new and shifting perspectives on what learning should look like for their children. Working with children this age, I learnt a lot about what it means to be truly present, to really experience what is happening around you and to ask questions, be curious and love to learn. In both roles I have been a senior teacher and had responsibilites in managing curriculum, a team, daily procedure and processes and refining all of the million things that go into each hour, each day, each week, each year to create an experience of learning that was supportive and productive and always improving.

Investment Management
Previous to going into teaching I worked at a investment management company who invested in foreign and emerging markets. I worked in a operations role and was focused on streamlining, organisation, data collection and redistribution to portfolio managers, sales teams timetables etc. I will forever be grateful for the mathematical, problem solving and IT skills (particularly excel) I learnt in this role. My role was to check market movements and exchange rates each day and trends over time the relevant markets, summarising these to help support the portfolio managers make the best decisions regarding their funds.

Finance for Film
My first 2 years out of university after completing my finance degree were in film. I worked long hours in this fast paced environment to ensure departments were in budget and all costs were accounted for. It meant developing close positive, professional relationships with a huge crew in order to keep on top of the mammoth amount of money a feature film production costs. Days were spent processing, balancing, communicating on financials and occasionally getting to watch some filming. Each film was audited which meant organisation was paramount and all costs accounted for. I worked on "The Danish Girl", "Black Sea", and "Tarzan"

Power Living - Manly, Neutral Bay, Bondi
Teaching Vinyasa and Yin at Power Living in the Northern Beaches. I have lived next to power living both in Bondi and Manly and it has been somewhere I have loved practicing. I truly love the element of flow in Power Living's classes and the power in their classes, I have loved focusing on these elements in my own practice and in facilitating to deliver consistently with their studio offering. It has been a pleasure getting to know the community and being part of this. Teaching for them and training with them has felt like the next evolution in my teaching through the onboarding support they offer.
-
Modern Movement, Balgowlah and Mona Vale
Since moving to the northern beaches I have had the pleasure of getting to know the Modern Movement community better. I have been teaching at both the Mona Vale and Balgowlah studios - modern vinyasa heated and non-heated classes, modern mellow and yin. Classes range between 60mins - 90mins. It has been lovely learning from and sharing with this new community.
-
Pilates
This year I have chosen to take my reformer Pilates training. It was something I was really enjoying along side my yoga practice and have been teaching for KX pilates twice a week since May. The training and experience has helped developed my skills in teaching both across pilates and yoga, especially in cueing, class planning, tactile assists. It has supported my understanding of anatomy and functional movement.
-
Events and Yoga for children
Across the year I have been asked to lead the yoga aspect on various events and mini retreats. It has been Wonderful to share in these experiences and bring different communities and people together with the magic of Yoga. Some events have been for children. I have experience holding space for children and creating engaging experiences from my work as a primary and early years teacher for many years.
-
The Flow - Newtown
I teach both vinyasa and yin at the flow in Newtown, four classes a week. It has been a great experience to teach here and getting to know the community in Newtown. Bella (studio owner) puts on lots of exciting training and community events which has given me the opportunity to continue to learn with the rest of the team at The Flow.
-
The Livingroom
Since moving to Sydney I have started teaching at the livingroom yoga school in Coogee. I take 60 minute vinyasa and 75 minute yin, both regular and cover classes. I have loved getting to know the community here, getting to know the studio and practicing with the various teachers already teaching at the studio. It has been great to learn from the other teachers at the studio, each offering unique and various teaching methods. I have also loved to share my unique practice, experience and joy at the studio.
-
Corporate
Teaching yoga in corporate spaces has been very rewarding, getting to know the same group of people and watching them show up for themselves every week as a team and celebrating each other’s progress and commitment brings me so much joy! It has been a wonderful experience planning classes that are accessible to groups with very varied experience in one class and also planning classes that allow for more interaction and connectedness with a group that know each other well.
-
Workshops
I have hosted a number of workshops since moving to Sydney. These have included Yin & Acupuncture, Inversions Workshop, Handstand specific workshop, Back bends workshop and a 6 week spring challenge. I love the opportunity hosting workshops and events give to dive deeper into specific topics, foster deeper connection with students and always gives me the opportunity to extend my understanding and knowledge

CorePlus Brighton and Port Melbourne
August 2020 I began teaching at CorePlus studios in Melbourne. I taught four classes a week alongside my job teaching at school. I taught both 60min hot vinyasa classes and 60min warm Yin. I loved working at the CorePlus studios and the energy in the classes as we moved, sweated and laughed together. It was great to learn all things studio from using the mindbody booking system, creating playlists, lighting, managing memberships and creating a welcoming space and atmosphere. It was also good experience to take the values, ethos and expectations of the studio and to combine this with my own values, ethos and pedagogy.
“I've been with the Living Room yoga studio for the past 6 months and tried many different classes and teaching styles. This is also my first journey with Yoga (I've never done it before) and I started with the classes for the beginners (which were really lovely). After a few months of practice my body was ready and needed "more" and I started to attend various different classes at the studio as well as practising at home. I made a few mistakes and my enthusiasm unfortunately started dropping down as I felt more and more stress in my right knee. This is when Isabella's lovely, caring classes happened to me (thank you Isabella!). She checked my postures and alignments, gave me a lot of great practice advice. My knee is healing beautifully now and Isabella's guidance is taking my practice gently, safely and with highest care to the next level. I feel so happy after every class with her and all of my enthusiasm about yoga and the benefits of practising are back :)”
— Aneta, The Livingroom Student 2022
“As a former teacher, I've been on the yoga journey for over 30 years and practicing vinyasa yoga for about 15 years but have found it difficult to find teachers who truly inspire and help me to expand my practice to the next level. That was until I did Isabella's class. I have been blown away by what an extraordinary teacher Isabella is. She is highly gifted in creating and delivering dynamic, unpredictable, well-thought out sequences. Each class is a unique journey and fulfilling experience.”
— Jo, The Livingroom Student 2022
“These classes have been the perfect balance of flexibilty and strength. They have a complimented my training in boxing and running by improving my mobility, posture and tone. She brings so much creativity to the practice and every class has something new to try whilst embedding the fundamentals and routine of a yoga practice. I love doing yoga with Bella and the peaceful energy she brings with her to the space and practice”
